Salient fosters new ideas and provides an environment for active participation by all levels of management and staff, with ongoing training programs to ensure our staff are competent and highly skilled in a diverse range of responsibilities. Track RecordSALIENT is very conscious of the need to provide systems that can easily be replicated, expanded, maintained and repaired. Despite using leading edge technology, it is very careful when developing its products to ensure that wherever possible, standard components and commercially available equipment is used in its products. This philosophy prevents obsolescence and increases the operating life of the equipment. A feature of all SALIENT's systems is the modularity and flexibility of its finished product, permitting ease of maintenance, rapid fault localization and quick return to service. SALIENT also tries to use the same basic "building blocks" in all of its solutions, so that less spare parts need be retained, and the same parts can be used in a number of different products. This feature also provides compatibility with previous SALIENT products, enabling new equipment to work beside and be compatible with old equipment, with very little interface re-configuring requirements.
Despite the proven reliability of its products, SALIENT acknowledges that faults can occur, and an environment giving up-to-the-minute information must be restored quickly with a minimum of disruption to the viewing public. SALIENT's response to service calls is both rapid and effective. It has suitably qualified and trained technicians with vehicles fully equipped with spare parts, test equipment, tools and service documentation. The head office is generally staffed from 7.00am until 6.00pm weekdays, and provides a suitably qualified person to provide telephone assistance to the caller on subjects relating to software, hardware, system operation, fault diagnosis, trouble-shooting etc. Outside of normal office times, telephone answering machines provide up-to-date information regarding paging service and mobile phone numbers that can be called, and they also record any incoming messages. These communication systems essentially provide 24hr service back-up, guaranteeing a rapid response to any "call for help".
Only suitably skilled and qualified persons are employed in each of the above areas. Potential clients are invited to inspect our design and manufacturing facilities to see for themselves that Salient has the technical know-how to undertake most types of electronic information display systems.
Salient's visual display products are based on solid state light emitting devices such as LED (Light Emitting Diode), LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), Split Flap, Flip Dot, and Video Monitor (CRT and Plasma Displays). Each of these display technologies can be tailored to suit individual requirements and are ideally suited to meet current environmental concerns. All of Salient's displays are designed for long life and maintenance-free operation under the harshest conditions.
